Delivery Information  

WE NOW OFFER FREE UK-MAINLAND SHIPPING ON ALMOST EVERY PRODUCT.

Delivery will be by our Specialist Courier, Parcelforce, The Royal Mail or similar
service, depending on the size of the item.

Our Specialist Courier - will need your phone number so they can contact you
to arrange delivery and will also need to be informed of any access issues. We
mainly use a 2 man delivery service and they will carry the item(s) to the room
of your choice. Delivery is in mainland UK only, if you live in Scotland or an Island
please enquire as costs vary. Some items are delivered with one person so please let us know if you will be unable to assist, when placing your order.

Photographs - Please bear in mind that photographs can appear to be different shades/colours on different screens. Most of our photos are taken in studios with bright lighting, if a colour match is important, please contact us before purchase.

Despatch - All accessories, lighting and most furniture all sold from stock and are dispatched within 7 days, usually less, although occasionally it may take a little longer. Should this be the case, we will contact you and give you an estimated time for delivery or provide an immediate complete refund. Please be a little patient with large items of furniture, we use a good reliable Specialist removal company/courier, who concentrate on quality of service rather than just speed. Your items will arrive in A1 condition in a good time scale.

Multi purchase - Should you buy multiple items they will normally be delivered
together and if there is a delay on one item, we are unable to split the delivery
without charging an additional postage fee.

Returns - Under the distance selling act you have the right to refuse/return an
unwanted item within 7 days.  The 7 day period starts on the day of delivery. 
You will be liable for the delivery and return postage. If you have received a
faulty or incorrect item, you must notify us upon receipt, we will then arrange
to collect and replace the item within the usual time scales as indicated in the
terms of delivery. Please note that Special Finish items are non refundable under any circumstances, as they are finished to order. Please speak to us if you are unsure or require colour advice etc.

Collection - We are unable to offer collection as we utilise warehouses in different parts of the Country.

Insurance - All items are insured until they arrive on your premises. Please be aware that delivery men cannot be held responsible for any damage to your property while moving items, please ensure they have clear access to avoid any incidents.

International - We normally only ship within the UK Mainland, we can deliver to
Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland please enquire before purchasing, so we
can give an accurate delivery cost. Costs are often lower than you would expect. We can also recommend Abbey Shipping who will deliver to most areas of the world.

Terms - By selecting shipping when completing Checkout you are automatically
requesting us to arrange a courier on your behalf. We will endeavour to deliver
to the UK mainland within 21 working days (excluding weekends & public holidays) of receipt and completion of your order; however, delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors. 'Salem House' shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver within estimated time scales.

  • It is the customer's responsibility to supply 'Salem House' with the correct Shipping information. 'Salem House' shall be under no liability for any postage costs if the wrong delivery information has been supplied.
  • All items delivered require a signature. If a signature is obtained from any person other than the named customer at the specified delivery address, the named customer is still responsible for the item and any charges associated with it.
  • You will receive an email or call from us stating when your item(s) has left us giving you further details regarding the carrier and expected delivery day, if no one is available to accept an arranged delivery you will be responsible for any return or re-delivery fees. When you receive your item/s from the courier it is VERY IMPORTANT to ensure that the packaging of your goods is checked, and in good condition BEFORE signing the delivery note. If the couriers attempt to deliver a parcel with damaged or open packaging PLEASE CHECK it and inform us immediately of any damage.

Guarantee - All new furniture items come with a statuary 1 year guarantee against faulty materials. Please inspect your item upon arrival and mark the delivery receipt with details of any damage, also email or phone us the same day otherwise it will be difficult to make a claim against the courier.
